HGV Technician

Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a stable, well-paid role with clear structure and progression? Our client — a busy and well-established commercial vehicle operation in Thurrock— is looking for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team. Whether you currently work as an HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Truck Mechanic, this is a strong opportunity to join a professional environment with solid earning potential and shift variety.

Salary: £20 – £24 per hour • Bonus and overtime

Hours: 42 ½ hours per week

Week 1 – Monday – Friday: 6.00 am – 3.00 pm

Week 2 – Monday – Friday: 2.00 pm – 11.00 pm

What you’ll be doing (and doing brilliantly)

• Carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGV vehicles
• Completing work efficiently while meeting manufacturer time standards
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to a high standard
• Accurately recording all work completed, diagnostics and parts used
• Liaising professionally with customers and internal teams where required
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction

 
What we’re looking for

• Qualified HGV Technician with Level 3 qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds)
• Proven experience servicing, repairing and diagnosing HGV vehicles
• Confident working to MOT standards and manufacturer guidelines
• C or C+E licence advantageous but not essential
• Previous roadside HGV experience beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and a professional, team-focused attitude
