Paint Preparation Technician / Prepper – Ashford

Are you an experienced Paint Preparation Technician / Prepper who takes pride in high-quality finishes and attention to detail? Our client — a busy prestige automotive dealership in Ashford — is looking for a skilled Prepper to join their professional bodyshop team.

This is a great opportunity to work in a clean, well-organised environment where quality matters and your skills are properly valued.

Salary: £36,000 basic Plus bonus

Hours: Monday–Friday 8am – 5pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays 8am – 1pm

What you’ll be doing (and doing brilliantly)

• Sanding, filling and priming repaired panels
• Masking vehicles ready for paint
• Flatting and smoothing surfaces to remove imperfections
• Supporting Paint Sprayers with vehicle preparation
• Polishing and finishing painted vehicles where required
• Ensuring panels are clean, smooth and paint-ready
• Identifying defects before the paint stage
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Paint Preparation Technician / Prepper
• Experience gained within a bodyshop or accident repair centre
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
