Are you an experienced Workshop Controller looking for your next opportunity within a busy, well-structured automotive workshop? Our client — a prestigious automotive brand in Southend— is looking for a confident and organised Workshop Controller to help drive workshop performance, support technicians and keep the day running smoothly. Whether you’re currently a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician or an experienced Vehicle Technician ready to step up, this is a great opportunity to take on a key role within a professional, well-supported main dealer environment.

Salary: £38,000 Plus Bonus & OTE
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5.30pm

What you’ll be doing, and doing brilliantly
• Managing daily workshop loading and technician workflow
• Allocating work to technicians based on skill level, workload and deadlines
• Monitoring vehicle progress and ensuring jobs are completed on time
• Supporting technicians with queries, job updates and workshop priorities
• Liaising with Service Advisors to ensure customers are updated accurately
• Ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and company standards
• Driving productivity, efficiency and first-time-fix performance
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring vehicles are ready for handover
• Supporting Parts with availability and escalating any delays quickly
• Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant workshop environment

What we’re looking for
• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician
• Strong understanding of workshop loading, technician productivity and repair processes
• Previous experience within a prestige or main dealer environment would be highly beneficial
• Confident communicator who can organise, motivate and support a workshop team
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively in a busy workshop
• Good technical knowledge across servicing, diagnostics and repairs
• Kerridge / DMS experience would be beneficial
